Heavy Equipment Maintenance

You make decisions every day, and many times they don't have much of an impact on your future. Some decisions, however, should be made carefully. For example choosing a career path, whether you’re a high school student looking beyond graduation or you’ve been out in the working world and are looking for a change, can affect whether or not you find opportunities down the road.  Roles that can't be taken on by computers or exported overseas are your ticket to a rewarding and promising future, and the heavy equipment maintenance field is one place you can find those kinds of roles.

As a heavy equipment maintenance specialist, you'll be able to diagnose and repair diesel engines, truck systems and off-road equipment system units. There are many positions in this field open today, and opportunities are expected to grow over the next eight years.

Heavy Equipment Maintenance Career Opportunities

By 2024, almost 30,000 positions are expected to open across the country. Here’s a look at a handful of states where growth is expected (all career growth projections below can be found at careeronestop.org for the years 2014–2024, unless otherwise noted):

New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania: By 2024, these three northeast corridor states are expected to add more than 2,300 jobs in the field, combined.

Florida: In this Southern state, expect to see 23 percent growth through 2024. (1,840 jobs)

North and South Carolina: It's predicted that by 2024, heavy equipment mechanic employers will need to fill more than 1,500 jobs in the Carolinas.

°±ð²Ô³Ù³Ü³¦°ì²â:ÌýExpect around 12 percent growth in the heavy equipment industry by 2024. (almost 900 jobs)

For New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York jobs, you can explore training options at Lincoln Tech in South Plainfield, New Jersey. If you plan to start your career in Florida, the Carolinas or Kentucky, enroll in Lincoln Tech's Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technology training program in Nashville, Tennessee. The Nashville campus also provides housing for students from around the country (and has served students from all over the world in its 97-year history!). Both campuses enjoy close working relationships with employers like Caterpillar and many others.

No matter which campus you choose, you can expect hands-on experience and access to industry-standard equipment at Lincoln Tech. Our heavy equipment training program is designed to provide the skills and understanding necessary to succeed. Enroll today to get started!
